Refund Policy

1. The short version
If Proofley isn’t a fit, or something is genuinely broken in a way that prevents you from using the Service, email billing@proofley.com within 14 days of your most recent charge and we’ll refund that charge in full. No forms, no friction.
We are a small team that would rather lose a charge than keep money from an agency the product didn’t help.
2. What’s eligible
- Your most recent monthly charge on Starter or Pro, refunded in full, within 14 days of the charge date
- Charges where you were billed in error (duplicate charge, billed after cancellation, charged the wrong plan tier)
- Charges where the Service was unavailable or non-functional for a sustained period during the billing cycle
- Annual plan refunds on a pro-rata basis for the unused remaining months, when requested within 30 days of the annual renewal
3. What’s not eligible
- Charges older than 14 days (or 30 days for annual plans) — we cannot refund retroactively beyond this window
- Partial-month refunds for cancellations mid-cycle on monthly plans — cancellation simply stops the next charge, you retain access until the period ends
- Refunds requested because you forgot to cancel before a renewal — please cancel proactively from the billing portal; we don’t issue auto-renewal refunds outside the eligibility window
- Accounts suspended or terminated for violating the Terms of Service (abuse, fraud, illegal content)
4. How to request a refund
- Email billing@proofley.com from the email address on your Proofley account.
- Include the charge date and amount (you can find this in your Stripe receipt or the billing section of your workspace).
- Tell us briefly why — a sentence is enough. We’re not gatekeeping; we’d rather hear honest feedback than fight you on a charge.
We respond within 2 business days. Approved refunds are issued back to the original payment method via Stripe and typically clear in 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
5. Free plan and free trials
The Free plan is free forever and involves no payment, so refunds do not apply. Free trials on paid plans never charge your card unless the trial ends and converts — you can cancel at any point during the trial from your billing settings to avoid any charge.
6. India (INR) plans
Customers on local INR pricing (Starter ₹1,999/mo, Pro ₹3,499/mo) are covered by the same 14-day refund window. Refunds are issued in INR back to the original payment method. We comply with applicable Indian consumer protection rules, including the Consumer Protection Act 2019, where they grant rights beyond this policy.
7. Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank or card issuer instead of contacting us, your Proofley account may be suspended while the dispute is investigated. Please email us first — we will almost always resolve it faster than a chargeback would.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email to active paid subscribers at least 30 days before they take effect. The version in force at the time of your most recent charge is the version that applies to that charge.
